AHJA Year End Awards Banquet

I was invited by Wendy Dean Jorgensen, president of the AHJA, to be the official photographer for their annual Year End Awards Ceremony this past Saturday. I don't show much any more (although I plan to change that in the near future), so it was really nice to attend this, as I haven't been to an awards banquet in ages. It gave me some motive to get my horses into show gear, yay! :D

Although lighting is always less than ideal indoors (without a big light setup), I managed to get some cute and funny shots along with the traditional awards shots. If you'd like to see some of the fun that went on, click here to visit the proofs from the evening. You can also check out a the nifty silent action items, donated by companies such as Greenway Saddlery.

Wicked Cool Sunset

I went out to the barn today so I could take some shots for an EPNet image challenge. I almost decided not to go, as the sky was black with an approaching storm. But I decided to wing it and headed out to the barn with my pro camera and my (somewhat) new Canon A640 point-and-shoot.

There are some crazy sunsets in Illinois at times, especially after a big storm, but I've never seen anything like this here in AZ. So I thought I'd share...I have it on video too, if anyone cares to see it. ;)

These images were all taken facing East, about 20 minutes apart.

Black sky

Then yellow clouds

And finally, it all dissipates to the Heavens

Images taken for the challenge:

Copper Top

Fuzzy Muzzle

Liquid Gold

And finally Munchkin, waiting for me to stop photographing nonsense and get down to business. That is, playing with her 24/7. ;)

Happy New Year!

Kitty and I are taking a break and trying to relax. I'll be back to work shortly. Kitty...well, I'm pretty sure he'll keep napping. ;)

Life is good

This awesome Chompies sandwich helped my boyfriend Ryan ring in the New Year.
