My mare's boyfriend is quite the hunk. :) Too bad she'll probably never meet him in person. LOL
Salto is a 17.2h bay Hanoverian with German papers. He's 19 years young in this video. Amazing, huh? Bred to be a Grand Prix jumper (my kinda horse), but he was injured as a youngster and was never able to compete.
A shame, but the silver lining is that he makes one helluva stallion. I just had to meet him last year after seeing his filly Sophisticate win her inspection. Then she went on to win National Champion Weanling Filly and overall placed 3/334, which was against other weanlings, stallions, the works.
His owner - my client and friend, Kristen - put together a great video, with clips of Salto strutting his stuff (love that shiny tail!) and also photos of some of his "kids" from around the country. All of it makes me even more excited to see how the Salto/Daisy cross turns out!
Should be a pretty impressive baby, from the looks of things. Hurry up May 8th!
